We were contacted to resolve a Wi-Fi failure at a small rental property in Delray Beach with multiple guest rooms. The issue occurred over the weekend, leaving parts of the property without reliable internet access during active bookings.
For rental properties, Wi-Fi is not optional. Connectivity issues directly impact guest experience, reviews, and daily operations. A delayed response was not an option in this case.
The existing network relied on multiple Wi-Fi extenders distributed across the building. During inspection, the hardware showed clear signs of overheating. The white plastic casing on several extenders had turned dark yellow, indicating prolonged heat exposure and aging components.
In high-usage environments such as rental properties, extenders often run continuously under load. Over time, this leads to degraded performance, instability, and eventual failure.
Since the issue occurred on a Sunday evening, immediate replacement with new equipment was not possible. To restore partial service quickly, a temporary router (TP-Link Archer AX3600) was installed.
This allowed basic Wi-Fi access to be restored in part of the property overnight, reducing the impact on guests until a permanent solution could be implemented.
The following day, the temporary setup was replaced with new equipment. A TP-Link Archer AX4400 router was installed along with a TP-Link RE3000 extender to improve signal distribution across the building.
Extended coverage using TP-Link RE3000 Wi-Fi extender
After installation and mesh-style network setup, Wi-Fi coverage was tested throughout the guest rooms to ensure stable connectivity in all occupied areas. This step is critical, as signal strength near the router does not guarantee usable performance in distant rooms or through walls and structural barriers.
The failed extenders were removed, new equipment was installed, and stable Wi-Fi coverage was restored across the property. Guest rooms regained reliable internet access, and the network was able to handle multiple connected devices without instability.
Installed TP-Link Archer AX4400 router for improved Wi-Fi coverage
In multi-room properties, Wi-Fi issues are often caused by hardware degradation rather than configuration alone. Overheating, continuous load, and improper equipment selection can lead to gradual performance decline and sudden failure.
Temporary solutions can restore service quickly, but proper hardware replacement and coverage verification are required for long-term reliability.
Sfixy IT Services provides on-site Wi-Fi troubleshooting, router and extender installation, and full network setup for homes, rental properties, and small businesses.
If your Wi-Fi is unstable, not reaching all rooms, or failing under load, we can diagnose the issue and restore reliable coverage where it matters.
